Co-operatives UK has been named Business of the Year at the City of Manchester Business Awards (COMBA).
On Thursday 14 September, representatives from Co-operatives UK and the wider Co-operative Movement joined over 250 of the city’s leading business personalities at the Lowry Hotel for the City of Manchester Business Awards (COMBA).
Co-operatives UK overcame stiff competition to be named Business of the Year for 2023. Other nominees included multi-national consulting firms Deloitte and AECOM, global commercial real estate firm Avison Young and business energy supplier Unify Energy.
Rose Marley, CEO of Co-operatives UK, said: "This is also testament to the team's hard work in raising awareness of co-operative business and shouting about how proud we are to be a co-operative. And of course, with Manchester being our home this is even more special!"
Hosted by Downtown CEO and Group Chairman Frank McKenna, the annual award ceremony acknowledges and celebrates companies and entrepreneurs that have made a successful and significant contribution to economic growth in the city region. It was excellent to see co-operative business represented at such a high-profile event.
